Just a brief word on the passing of Shirley Calkins, former art teacher at Norman High School. She was the reason that I became an art teacher. She will be greatly missed.

Linda. did she teach at West Jr High too ? I may have had her if she did. If so, she's the reason i didn't become an art teacher LOL.
No disrespect intended here, im just not talented in art.

I had Mrs. Calkins for art in the 7th grade at West Jr High. I was almost through with a poster for a contest, and she made me do it completely over...I was so mad...but, I won first place in the state level of the competition...I thought she was the most elegant, sophistocated woman...
